That is the point of 5 Questions With: to go beyond the bios and the press releases and give you a deeper sense of our people. Each month, we'll give a Blue Slate professional 5 questions to ponder. 5 Questions with Jill Parsons
How long have you worked at Blue Slate?
I started with Blue Slate back in 2000 when the company was first getting started as an "accelerator". Then the goal was to work with start ups who had the funding and perhaps a plan, but lacked the leadership or IT development skills to bring their vision to market.
How did you end up at Blue Slate?
I had just moved back from Seattle, where I had been working at Microsoft and I was looking for a place in Albany where I could use my skills and experience.
What do you love about your job?
Easily, it is the people I work with at Blue Slate who are some of the smartest I've ever known. I love that I get to participate in making positive changes for our clients -- all while backed up with a team that changes from project to project but that is always high energy.
What draws people to work at Blue Slate?
I am not sure. Well placed ads? ;-) Actually, I think historically it's the same thing that draws clients to Blue Slate -- a relationship or past shared experience with another Blue Slater.
How would you describe the typical Blue Slate employee?
I think it's a certain type of person that thrives on change, enjoys a new challenge and can really work with all types of people.
